Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 side fresh salmon, boned but skin on (about 3 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill by lighting charcoal briquettes or heating a gas grill. Brush the grilling rack with oil to prevent sticking.
  2. Place the salmon on a cutting board, skin side down. Slice crosswise into 4 equal pieces, keeping the skin intact.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, soy sauce, olive oil, and minced garlic until smooth.
  4. Drizzle half of the marinade over the salmon pieces, allowing them to soak for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Place the salmon skin side down on the preheated grill. Grill for 4-5 minutes without moving it, then flip gently using a spatula. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes, or until done to your liking.
  6. Transfer the grilled salmon to a plate, drizzle with the remaining marinade, and let rest for 10 minutes. Remove the skin before serving.
