Ingredients
- 6 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 1/2 onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups beef broth (or low sodium)
- 1 packet (1 oz) brown gravy mix
- 2 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 4 tbsp water
Beef Patties
- 1 1/2 lbs lean ground beef
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup minced onion
- 1/3 cup Panko breadcrumbs
- 3 tbsp milk
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place mushrooms and onions at the bottom of a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, combine beef patty ingredients and shape into six patties. Brown each over medium-high heat for about 3 minutes per side.
- Layer the browned patties over the mushrooms and onions in the slow cooker.
- In a separate bowl, mix beef broth, gravy mix, ketchup, Dijon mustard, and parsley. Pour this over the patties in the slow cooker.
- Cover and cook on low for 5 hours.
- After cooking, remove patties and set them aside. Turn the slow cooker to high. Combine cornstarch and water, then stir it into the broth to thicken. Add the patties back into the sauce to coat.
- Serve over mashed potatoes, rice, or pasta.
