Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 6 slices of bacon
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 2 cups chopped lettuce (optional, for serving)
  • Diced tomatoes (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the bacon until crisp. Remove, crumble, and set aside.
  3. Drain most of the bacon fat, leaving about 1 tablespoon. Add diced onion and garlic; sauté until translucent.
  4. Add the ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika.
  6. Stir 1 cup of shredded cheddar into the ground beef mixture until melted.
  7. Transfer the beef mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Pour the cream mixture over the top.
  8. Sprinkle crumbled bacon, followed by the remaining cheddar cheese, over the top.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  10. Let the casserole sit for a few minutes before serving. Optionally, top with lettuce and tomatoes.
